The OmenaArt Foundation's TOP CHARITY auction raised approximately €20 million at its fifth anniversary edition in Warsaw, breaking its own record and bringing the initiative's five-year total to over €34 million.

The jubilee event, held at the Orangery of the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów, was attended by the King of Asante and marked by an international awards ceremony. Co-founder Rafał Brzoska doubled the auction result for the second year running — a commitment that has become a defining feature of the event.
Omenaa Mensah, the Ghanaian-Polish philanthropist and Tate Modern Africa Acquisitions Committee member who founded the initiative, described the evening as a turning point. "Every year I become convinced that when people from business, art and philanthropy truly join forces, we can achieve things that only moments earlier seemed impossible," she said.
African artists featured prominently among the top lots. Amoako Boafo's Laced Fingers — a finger-painted portrait held in the collections of the Guggenheim, the Albertina, and LACMA — sold for €350,000. Ibrahim Mahama's HYMNS FOR THE REBEL SOUL (2026) achieved €280,000, and Modupeola Fadugba's The Kiss from the Ojude Oba series sold for €160,000.
Other significant results included Tomasz Koclęga's Lux Mentis at €340,000; Charlotte Colbert's Out with Lanterns at €300,000, five times its upper estimate; and a sculpture after Constantin Brâncuși's Mademoiselle Pogany that reached approximately €300,000 — nearly ten times its high estimate. Magdalena Abakanowicz's Ptak II sold for €240,000, and Philip Colbert's Flower III (with Dots) achieved €220,000.
The full results: Wojciech Ireneusz Sobczyk – €160,000; Paweł Althamer – €100,000; Karolina Żądło – €100,000; Pola Dwurnik – €160,000.

Where the Money Goes
Proceeds are distributed through the Philanthropic Consortium — a partnership between the Omenaa Foundation, the Rafał Brzoska Foundation, and affiliated organisations. Over five years, funds have rescued 578 children from slave labour in Ghana, supported the education of more than 7,000 pupils, funded scholarships for 99 students, and provided care for 1,200 children in homes across Poland. In the 2025/2026 season, 238 aid projects are being carried out, with over 30 million PLN already donated to NGOs.
Brzoska noted that the initiative has grown well beyond a single event: "With each successive edition, TOP CHARITY shows that it is possible to think more boldly and build projects on a truly international scale."
Mensah also supports the Kuenyehia Trust for Contemporary Art Prize and the Yaa Asantewaa Prize, both dedicated to African artistic excellence — signals of a giving architecture that extends onto the continent.
TOP CHARITY 2026 was awarded Best Charity Event in Europe at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards.
